Hydrangea Limelight Prime

Limelight Prime hydrangea is a new and improved version of the bestselling Limelight. Slightly more compact than its predecessor, Limelight Prime boasts stronger stems, withstanding both wind and rain better and holding its beautiful flowers upright. Its leaves stay a darker shade of green throughout the summer months, and its flowers boast even more vibrant color than the Limelight hydrangea. It begins blooming slightly earlier as well, providing even more time to enjoy is full, long-lasting blooms. It a wonderful hedge or natural fence, or it can even be trained to make a small tree or topiary.

Limelight Prime grows 4 – 6 feet tall and wide. It has broad, notched leaves that are covered in small hairs and are slightly soft to the touch. They are a rich green color throughout the summer and transform to a golden yellow in the fall. This shrub’s beautiful blooms are a grouping of small flowers growing in a cone shape so densely that they seem to form one large flower. These flowers bloom as a vibrant green that fades to a soft, creamy white, and then to a soft pink, and finally to a rich, bold pink in the fall. Unlike some varieties of hydrangea, amending the soil will not affect the color of the blooms.
